Azure DevOps – Salesforce Integration

Connect Azure DevOps and Salesforce and automate the data exchange between your DevOps and sales teams.

Data Types: Azure DevOps Work Items to Salesforce Cases

Entities: Salesforce (Cases) Salesforce (Cases)

Salesforce - Azure DevOps Use Case

If your main ITSM/CRM system is Salesforce and you want to be able to forward Salesforce Cases to Azure DevOps automatically, you can use ZigiOps’ integration between the two software tools.

An integration in the opposite direction (from Azure DevOps to Salesforce) is also possible.

ZigiOps retrieves new Cases created in Salesforce in real time and logs them as Work Items in Azure DevOps. You have a high level of data filtering control, so you can define which Salesforce Cases to collect. You also have full control over the data field mapping functionalities of the platform, allowing you to define how ZigiOps reports data to Azure DevOps. With this integration, you can sync regular fields, custom fields, lifecycle fields, comments and attachments.

Updates in Salesforce for the Cases that have been already transferred to Azure DevOps are extracted in real time. Regular fields, custom fields, lifecycle fields, comments and attachments are synced between the two.

Similarly, updates in Azure DevOps for Work Items that originate from Salesforce Cases are collected in real time. The integration platform synchronizes them with the related Salesforce Case in Salesforce, aligning regular fields, custom fields, lifecycle fields, comments and attachments.

Challenges for Azure DevOps and Salesforce users

Salesforce is one of the most popular CRM platforms out there, but that’s not all—it also provides a suite of enterprise applications for 360° customer relations, marketing, analytics, and more. It can be used by the service desk or by other teams to manage different aspects of the company’s services, and the sales team might sometimes need help in tackling product issues. Development teams use DevOps tools, such as Azure DevOps, not only to plan and schedule releases but also to tackle the problems that the service desk team receives and forwards to them.

All those teams often work together to solve common issues, which impact the company’s end customers. Keeping your teams in sync is essential for the success of your operations, and one of the best ways to achieve that is through a software integration platform.
