OpsBridge - Cherwell Integration Overview
Companies benefit from connecting OpsBridge and Cherwell in many ways, like automating crucial repetitive tasks and optimizing workloads. The connection ZigiWave establishes between the two systems happens via a connected server.
Let’s look at the case when there are two separate teams in the company, and one of them is using Operations Bridge Manager, while the other relies on Cherwell. When an event appears in the OpsBridge system, ZigiOps fetches it and sends it to Cherwell via the connected server as a Cherwell incident.
Through the listener, ZigiOps scans for new updates on the event’s side. When the platform encounters such, it updates the connected systems with fresh information. This way, ZigiOps keeps them synced. Important information such as state, severity, priority, assigned user, and group attributes are also collected and used to enrich the OpsBridge database.
Through the polling, ZigiOps fetches Cherwell incident updates and sends them to the corresponding OBM events.
Common challenges for Micro Focus OpsBridge and Cherwell users
Micro Focus OpsBridge is a comprehensive monitoring platform. Its users rely on it to gain a detailed picture of every aspect of the IT ecosystem's performance and the health status of its connected apps.
Cherwell is a popular ITSM solution for mid to large-scale companies from different niches. At its core, Cherwell helps IT departments timely handle various customer inquiries.
Often OpsBridge and Cherwell are used together in organizations, but when they are not in sync this might lead to silos and delays in handling critical issues.
How do we solve them?
Incorporating monitoring and ITSM tool, utilized in tandem, helps enhance and speed up collaborations between teams. However, if not connected properly, significant gaps in cross-team communications and issues resolution occur.
Integrating the two systems bi-directionally in a way that allows them to communicate with each other without interference helps eliminate human-related errors and data gaps. With ZigiOps, challenges like data transfer delays and misinformation are eliminated. Also, user-related issues are resolved timely, before escalating.
