ServiceNow Jira Integration video

In this video, we demonstrate how to integrate ServiceNow and Jira using ZigiOps, a powerful no-code integration platform. If you’re wondering how can I integrate ServiceNow with Jira effectively, this walkthrough is for you.

Step 1: Log in to ZigiOps

Start by logging into the ZigiOps platform to access the integration interface.

Step 2: Verify System Connections

Before proceeding, it's important to follow best practices for ServiceNow and Jira integration — such as validating connection status and confirming permissions — to avoid sync errors later.

Navigate to the Connected Systems tab and check the status of both Jira and ServiceNow. Ensure that ZigiOps is successfully connected to both platforms.

Step 3: Configure the Integration

Go to the Configurator tab to access the ServiceNow–Jira integration setup.

  • System 1: Jira
  • System 2: ServiceNow

Choose the integrated entities from dynamic lists populated directly from each system. For example, map Jira Issue Type: Task to the ServiceNow Incident Table.

Step 4: Define Operations

Each integration contains a set of Operations. These determine the logic and actions ZigiOps will execute.

You can configure operations like:

  • Create
  • Update
  • Delete
  • Fetch

Each operation includes:

  • Trigger Type (e.g., Polling every 10 seconds)
  • Trigger Conditions to define which records should be transferred
  • Field Mappings for matching data between systems
  • Correlation Settings to ensure continuous synchronization

Both field suggestions and values can be dynamic or hard-coded, depending on your use case.

Step 5: Test the Integration

Create a new task in Jira. ZigiOps will detect it, apply the trigger logic, and transfer it as a new incident in ServiceNow.

You can:

  • View the Incident Number in Jira after the sync
  • Search for the incident in ServiceNow and confirm it includes a Correlation Key back to the Jira task

What are the benefits of ServiceNow and Jira integration?

With ZigiOps, you gain real-time data sync, improved issue resolution, and reduced manual work across teams.

Step 6: Verify Bi-Directional Sync

Make changes in either system and see them reflected in the other. Examples include:

  • Updating Descriptions
  • Changing Statuses or Priorities
  • Adding Comments or Attachments

All updates are synchronized across both systems, including custom fields and lifecycle events.
