Nagios - VMware vROps Use Case
Nagios auto-discovery has found hosts that do not exist in the vROps database but need monitoring. ZigiOps takes the host information and reports it to vROps, enriching the topology information with data from Nagios. ZigiOps does regular checks to keep topology data up to date.
The integration platform collects Nagios events and reports them to vROps. This can be used for synchronization and correlation with existing events, or for updating data for related hosts in VMware vROps.

Nagios is a software tool that allows you to monitor the health of all components of your infrastructure: applications, services, networks, operating systems, and more. Similarly, VMware vROps gives you full visibility into the health of your physical, virtual, and cloud systems.
In order to provide continuous uptime and availability, IT teams at large tech organizations sometimes use both systems to monitor different elements of their environment and infrastructure. It’s critical to keep Nagios and vROps in sync, in order to address issues as soon as possible, and before they impact operations.
Seamless end-to-end data flow between teams and departments is a must for companies that use multiple software tools in their environment. A robust data integration platform is key for this. Workflow automation helps you improve your operational efficiency, resolve problems as they arise, and guarantee a high level of availability.
